Artist's Comments

The Moon rotates around the Earth, the Earth rotates around the Sun. As sure as this will keep happening the seasons will continue to roll around just the same.

*Edit* - synecdoche-fish created a limerick for this [link] =) Check it out.

Well as some of you know I had a block and now I'm kinda out of it. This peice took me 5 hours for the renders, and about 3 hours to put together. Thats like a total of 8 hours O_o which is MUCH longer then what I would normaly spend on my pics. Also all of the files and data together is like over 100MB O_o So you get the idea that this is a much larger project then what I normaly would do =P

Ok so now let me tell you how I did this. I used Bryce 5 (as I normaly do =P) I just grabbed a standard tree and just put it in the center. I then zoomed up on it so I got a good angle and lighting. So after doing the fancy camera work =P I went textured the trunk and leaves for the spring section and rendered it. I then did the same with the other sections while only changing the textures to suit them. I finnished with the winter section where I removed all of the leaves because it was more wintery. If you have a look the only time the trunk/brances texture was changed was for the winter section. So I rendered it all and I ended up with about 4 9MB files just from the renders.

So once that was done I went and did some maths so I knew where to copy from the images. For this I used Paint Shop Pro because thats about the onlything that I realy have to use at the moment =P I drew up the borders using vectors that way I could get the mesurments right and what not. I did that and then I coppied each section into the border image I had. I realized that I did my maths wrong so I had to get a larger selection of each season. So I finaly got the right amount (actualy it was more then I needed :P) and moved it into the borders. So once I did it for all four seasons I went and added text to it. Originaly it was going to be white but it didn't show up on the winter section so I decided to have a colour for each season. So thats more or less how I did this image.

Well I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do =)

Note - Don't say that Autumn should be Fall because fall is something that you do and isn't a real season (or at least in Australia)=P

Damn it, I always lose detail when I zoom in, so I'm afraid it's just going to be what I see from the smallversion. ._.;

I love season pictures like this, I like seeing the changes of one tree and the different stages it goes through, which you've shown well on here especially since it's one whole image as sections. I also want to add I lie how you've explained what you did in your comments, it was intresting to read and a lot of people don't bother to write anything, when really I think the artist's comments adds to the piece. My favourite is Autumn, I like the colours, it's warm and inviting and I especially love the details of the ground.

You're welcome ^^

Yeah, kind of sucks because sometimes you really need to look in close to get the best effect. ._.; Oh well, maybe one day my computer will like me.
